First off, we’re planning for a wonderfully Here Comes Sunshine sort of day. But even if we have Cold Rain and Snow, the show will still go on. Generally, the day unfolds something like this:
11:00-Noon
Testing out the sound system by playing great old shows and setting up BBQ’s and Emilie’s Tie Dye Village. If watching and listening to the day unfold, come out about 11:30 to grab a good spot and watch the Festival come to life.
Noon-2:00pm
Gratefully inspired bluegrass with Reckless Breakfast will get the music started. BBQ’s start up, the folks from Vermexico, a family owned company that makes burritos and other yummy snacks, will be setting up and the first of the free Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream cups will be eaten. Vending opens at noon as well.
2:00pm-6:00pm
Rick Redington and the Luv get to moving. Beer tent is full of folks, grills are grilling, vendors are vending, Steve will have switched arms several times to continue scooping free ice cream and all is right with the world.
Also, lots of twirling, sunning, listening, stretching, sitting, eating, drinking and enjoying. Honestly, it’s a wonderful time to be in the mountains listening to great music, being with friends and enjoying the outside. Bring your kids and well behaved dogs and have fun.
As well, the Jay Summer Fest will be going on in the Towns of Jay and Westfield. More great food, bake sales, contests and prizes, raffles and an a laid back Americana vibe-the perfect complement to a day of Gratefully inspired music.
